Water Sector – challenges and solutions

Alexandra Serra is an executive manager, with more than 25 years of experience in the public and private water sector and a wide experience in international markets, having participated or coordinated projects in Morocco, Algeria, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Vert and Brazil. Her main professional experience is related to water supply and wastewater management and engineering consultancy.

She started her carrier at COBA, as consultant engineer, and she was Business Unit Director at FBO-DHV Group. At AdP Group, she was Engineering Director and Executive Board Member of AdP Serviços Ambientais, and president of AQUASIS. Presently, she is executive board member at Águas de Portugal International.

She is the President of the Portuguese Water Partnership, a platform for the internationalization of the Portuguese Water Sector. In 2010-2011, she was President of the Portuguese Water Resources Association and vice-president since 2006. She was the Portuguese Commissioner to the 5th World Water Forum and in the 6th World Water Forum, she was member of the Thematic Task-Group “Improving Sanitation for All.

Presently, she is board member at Aguas de Portugal International and president of AQUASIS SA, the IT company of Aguas de Portugal Group. She is the President of the Portuguese Water Partnership, a platform for the internationalization of the Portuguese Water Sector.
